why do I have 10 svchost.exe processes when I look under the window task manager? Is it a virus? They all have a different memory usage.

If the svchost.exe process is running from C:\Windows\System32\ then it is not a virus. For information on what svchost.exe is and how to find the services each svchost.exe process is managing, you can read the following guide:

You can close them Not a virus it is a Window thing, I always close the ones that say System next to it

svchosts are network related service. Usually you should have one for each network. Ex...1 for the internet, another for your local network, and so on. even your system uses it sometimes. whille browsing multiple internet URLs, depending on the sites, they could issue one svchost per URL.

because windows has a memory leak.

honestly, try linux if you can, but at the least, kill a few and run hackthis
