Not so very long ago you were expected to learn Latin, Classical Greek, and hopefully Italian and French by the time you were ready to enter the University. We have lost a lot catering to the idiots of the world.

Latin wouldn't be the only language that would help. Old English, French, German, Greek among others. I just spend lots of time with good dictionaries. I'm re-learning French, which was my first language.

well if you want to learn latin just to understand the classics... maybe you should kill two birds with one stone and show off your new latin speaking skills on this elusive girlfriend. i know that i cannot resist a guy who speaks another language, it is super sexy.
