You maybe forgetting all those wonderful women in US history. When the men were fighting in the wars, women were working the "male jobs". So yes, women have and will always "be good" to do a man's job if needed.

I don't think women should have ALL the job opportunities that men have. It's common sense (apparently not so common these days) that a man is better suited as a firefighter, for example. Most women can't pass the unaltered (for PC reasons) physical test...would I want one trying to carry my unconcious body down a ladder? No way. Inversely, there are some jobs that women are better suited for. I sincerely wish they'd just learn to be happy instead of making everybody miserable by trying to be men.
A lot of women these days seem to think it's some kind of game. When "Bubba" comes knocking on your door when you're not expecting him, maybe you'll realize it's no game.
Edit - azriel, get real. Guys can't use their full force on a woman without drawing all kinds of flak. It's socially unacceptable. I'm an average guy, but trust me...I could take you down in three seconds. Criminals have no such social stigma, either...they'll be using full force, too. (Like a high percentage of the populace, you've been watching too much TV. Hint: TV is not real.) It's a physical fact that men have twice the upper body strength as women...you're not going to change this fact no matter what you think, so get over it and move on.

I know a lot of women who would be stronger than me.. I've driven a forklift, done landscaping (digging holes), worked in warehouse.. operated heavy machinery.. worked industrial grinder and loaded 10 tonnes of plastics nightly.. on the graveyard.. all heavy lifting jobs.. all jobs only being done by men.. mostly because they're also very dangerous jobs!!
Make the connection???
Anyone???
I've done jobs where one slip.. and someone will die.. I've worked in places where they posted the "days since last injury" at the front.. the record was 68 days..
I never once saw a female doing any of those jobs.. and yet.. we would have openly welcomed it!
Alas.. these are heavy lifting jobs.. with strict "work code" which is hard to understand.. but an understanding of it.. means no one gets killed.. women would have to adjust to getting called "di$%heads" and being told in a nasty fashion to shut the F%K up! abruptly.. without responding in a soliloque of tears.. because that comment might save a life!
Men have a way of working where there is a balance and harmony.. one woman can destroy this! as can one man.. but one bad man is easily delt with! I've been sacked before.. I've been told off.. and copped it sweet.. often..
Can't do the same ot a woman.. it ends up in discrimination courts..

Damn! I could've written this myself! I feel the same way. And I agree and probally feel more strongly than some.
I am certain the feminists, female whatevers and those in such positions will give me a big thumbs down!
Yeah, well.......try getting that 120/150 pound female officer to stop a crack head, deter a would-be robber, or wrestle "big boy" to the ground to get him off his tiny wife.
I am a very independent woman and believe I work very hard to make my living. I own 4 bussiness'. One of which is a maintenance bussiness where I drive a tractor and do heavy lifting to remove the blades from grader to shovel. The other 3 are food services/restaruant.
However........as hard as I work I find it gruling and often a hardship on me physically.
I believe there are certain jobs that are better suited for MEN.
A "female" should NOT be a Police Officer, a prison guard, in combat Miliary or a fire fighter. These jobs require huge physical strength, a foreboding demeanor, a statue and appearance of fear and harm, a presence of authority, demand, trust, safety and security that this person can handle a dangerous situation.
A "female" just can NOT ward off a physical attack, fight like a man, cast fear into an assailent/enemy, or lift a 200 lb person and carry them from a burning building.
Women ARE physically weaker.
I once called 911 for Officer assitance? I TOLD 911 a 6" plus, 300 lb guy was on my property assualting me verbally and threathed to "slap me into tomorrow"? over a hotdog!
The officer that responded was like a BUCK -O- 5, female, and had freaking ponytails! I couldn't believe she was even allowed to be an officer! No threat whatsoever! But I guess she passed the exam for cute and cuddly.

Women should do whatever job they choose. Women constantly out perform men in all areas, even physically the gap is closing, so to deny a woman a chance of becoming senior in a public service would be wrong.
In a few years time we'll be asking should men have the job opportunities of women?

oh my, the feminist has arrived! of coarse they should be able to do any job a man does as long as they are just as good or better. although i find it much harder to talk my way out of speeding tickets with women officers. yes, feminist but still flirty! seriously, women are more agile and intuitve and just as smart as men. this can beat brawn, hands down. i've never lost a fight yet!

Women want their career contributions recognized, like teaching, nursing, mothering and the like. Some women may be capable of doing "male" jobs. Some men may be capable of doing "women's" jobs.
All in all, women do not want to be relegated to low paying, dead end jobs.
We want our jobs well paid so that we can raise the children that many of the men in our lives have abandoned.
Now isn't that simple.
Peace.
And Semper Fi to Ms. Balls, Woman Marine here as well. Don't worry Army Chick, the Marines have landed and the situation is well in hand.
Peace.

I'm in no way a feminist but I'm on my way to being a cop and I'll tell you that I can handle myself alot better than most guys and I could take down a 6'5" 250lb guy just as fast and effective as a guy.I wanted to play football in high school but got told I couldn't cause I would get hurt and I went to practise and worked the field and ended up hurting guys 3x bigger than me.Women aren't the weaker sex men made that up to make us think we couldn't succeed in those areas.

I think that the women who want to compete for those jobs should get the opportunity to do so. There are natural differences between the sexes ( thank goodness ) but I would let them do it anyway, and you are right this will bring out the feminist response.

I couldn't agree more, we have been created in a way that makes men stronger forget those superwomen in movies.
In the other hand also when women take more and more job oppertunities in general, men will loose thiers.
