It seems like as hard as I try (and fail sometimes) to be objective about questions and answers, there is someone that is equally as flippant in offering an answer full of opinion, but no real information (as I said, I'm guilty of it too at times).

Why do you think its so hard to remove emotions from the equation and give advice based on fact instead of feelings?

Because human beings are driven by emotions as well as logic. We see that all the time in this forum -- people hold to their beliefs out of emotion, rather than subjecting them to rational analysis or accepting such analysis from others. In human evolution, it is virtually certain that emotions came first -- if the lion is approaching, you'd better run. Also, doing truly objective work is damnably difficult -- even with a genius IQ, I have had to spend decades to get satisfactory answers as to how to proceed, and most people simply have neither the time nor the intellectual horsepower to approach objectivity.

Many folks believe that they are "right"; others wrong.

My mind is made up, don't confuse me with the facts.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynahan said that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts. Establishing "facts" is most difficult since people rely on different assumptions & presuppositions.

OF COURSE: You & I are "objective" but I at times wonder about you. :-)
