In italian it's "fortunato" so I'm pretty sure it's about the same in Spanish.
Ok looked it up here ya go, bit of both depending what context it is used in, seems for a person it's afordunado, and for representing luck, it's suerte:
lucky adj (luckier, luckiest)
1 (persona) afortunado,-a: I should be so lucky!, ¡qué más quisiera yo!
2 (momento) de suerte, de buen agüero
3 (amuleto, número) de la suerte: my lucky rabbit's foot, mi pata de conejo de la suerte
a lucky break, un golpe de suerte
buene suerte : good luck

You don't. You would respond with jejeje which is equivalent to lol in Spanish. Lol is an English slang term therefore it does not exist.
