As much as you like the name, I'm sure you love your son more. Why would you put him through the un-necessary teasing that would follow? The poor kids going to get enough of a tough time being Master Bates, anyway. Don't make it worse!

Well, that could be the debate of your lifetime...picking a name for your child is a hard thing to do....I would maybe go with something else, but who is to say he wouldnt be scarred if you name him John? I wanted to name my son Rhett Butler, and got veto-ed. I went 9 months and could not pick a name. The birth certificate lady was standing over my bed and I could not leave the hospital until a name was chosen...I got the baby book, opened it and chose the first name I saw...Austin. (I used Lee for the middle name after his dad.) And now, I couldn't imagine a better name if I had tried !!!!

Yes... just with the name Norman alone.
No offense to any Normans out there... it's just odd and it makes me think about Newman from Seinfeld because they sound similar.

Well...you can if you really want to but I don't suggest it. I mean, no one names their child Madonna anymore...if you get what I'm saying. I don't think it's in the best interest of the child either.

I don't think I'd do it. That movie is a classic. It's gonna be around forever. Why take the chance?

Sure, why not? It's not like your surname is Hunt and you want to name your son Mike.
