I left a damp sponge on an heirloom dresser for two days, and discovered this watermark the size of an apple. I have heard that mayonaisse would deminish the mark, but it did not help. This is the only flaw on the dresser. Any suggestions?

I used toothpaste (not gel type) once and it worked well. Just make sure you use a slightly damp cloth, rub well, wipe with a clean wet cloth to remove the toothpaste and polish once done. Good luck!

If you remove water rings while they're fresh, a little elbow grease and a soft cloth should do it, If they've been there awhile try an oil based furniture polish and a lot of elbow grease.
