Atma means generally the spiritual soul of human beings. the Atma is a mere spectator of all our activities and watch the karma of everybody. when the physical motal body cease to function we call it as death by then the Atma which is inherent leave the dead body seeking its further abode. The Almighty God who controls our life and death is known as the SUPREME BEING, called PARAMATHMA. finally the the Atma has to merge with the Paramathma after fulfilling the karmas enjoined upon one. Here we believe in two kinds of philosophies one being DWAITHA --the Atma and Paramathma are seperate entities- whereas the ADWAITHA siddhanta teach both Atma and Paramathma are the same and inseperable, after the meaningful exilstence on this planet earth the Atma when complete the karma philosophy will finallyl merge with Paramathma. Refer some authenticated versions of our ancient sages and the upadesas of Gurujis to understand the principle behind it and get enlightened.

The Souls in this universe are called Jivatmas (Jiva- Life Atma-Soul) which are said to re-unite with the Paramatma (Parama - Supreme Atma - Soul) when they attain Moksha or liberation from the cycle of life. Until this liberation happens Jivatmas move from one body to another body through the cycle of rebirths.

Those following the Dwaita Philosophy believe that the Paramatma and Jivatmas are seperate entities and the unification usually happens at the end of the rebirth cycle.

Those following Advaitha Philosophy believe that all the Jivatmas, (our souls) originate from the Paramatma and are part of the Paramatma and rejoin the Paramatma at the end of the rebirth Cycle.

Parmatma or pavitra-atma or parisudha-atma one and the same.Pavitra-atma is with in you. When ever we commit some thing wrong morally the conscious pricks you and to my mind that is pavitra-atma. God Almighty is with you always. He take care of you and protect you from all harm and danger and evil. Our body is a temple and pavitra-atma dwells in you and that is the reason we have to keep our body clean internally and externally. If there is ill-health it is necessary to come out of it soon and keep the body in good health.
