Yes this is still a side effect, the antihistamine and alcohol contents didn't change.

Having grown up with allergies and a family of allergy sufferer's, I can tell you children's liquid benedryl knock's me out. I suspect all it was, was alcohol and children's liquid benedryl, because it was made when they use to put alcohol in cough syrup. I don't know if they still do.
I don't take the benedryl capsule they are WAY too strong, the liquid is better because you can control the dose.

yes it can still make you drowsy. i'm curious, why don't you want a night time medication to make you drowsy? do you want to be awake and miserable?
