My girlfriend works there...the coffee is really good but I think it's a little expensive.

It's true that they treat their employees well. My girlfriend gets pretty decent health and dental benefits. She also gets stock every year and vacation time every six months and she's only a part-time employee.

I love Starbucks, but it's limited right now to a special treat for me ever since I read something about how buying expensive lattes over and over again can actually put you in a deep financial hole. Some call it the "latte factor." And now I can make my own coffee in the morning, so I get Starbucks when I'm out with friends or travelling or shopping on the weekend.

If I were to work there, now, that would be a different story. But getting a job at starbucks where I live is like trying to get into an Ivy League school. It's pretty exclusive, you almost have to know people. And I can get paid more elsewhere. But the benefits would be nice at Starbucks.

It is quite expensive. Too expensive for coffee. But supposedly it is really good, and they treat their employees really well, and i think thats Great! We need more businesses to treat their employees with respect and treat them as people and not as just workers.

So, I could never pay that much for coffee, because it is just overpriced, but I am glad that there are people who will so the company can keep up the good work with the employees.

You have to be careful cause guys like to flirt with pretty Starbucks Counter girl or waitresses. :)

Above that i think the coffe's okay but its way to expensive. The best coffee is CHEAP and GOOOOOD. The traditional coffee shops where the uncle uses the sock! Now thats goood coffee!

Reality Check:
Starbucks is a current popular spot for JC, Poly and Secondary school people to hog and study on cosy sofas and free air-con.

It's ridiculously expensive....the profit on a cheap cup of coffee is something like 700% so the Starbucks people are really cleaning up

I love Starbucks!! They have such a good variety of different flavors. Everyone who works there seems to have a lot of fun. It's great to hear that your girlfriend is treated fairly. I agree that it can get pricey but I go to Safeway & always get my 7th purchase free which in my eyes evens out.

I really, really try not to.

I used to hate it. Refused to go there. Then I went there, found a drink I LOVED, got addicted. Tried to get unaddicted. Went back and forth for a long time.

Then they raised prices and they intentionally killed a local coffee shop, and I decided I was officially done with them.

Now, I go to a local place that is much better. Yay!

I like the caramel frappacino, but I only go about twice a month because by the time I get two venti frappacinos (my husband likes them, too) and a big slab of cake to share we spend $13.
