The 80gb iPod is a video iPod that supports both TV Shows and full length movies, and games bought from the iTunes store.
a 42 min TV shows is ~500mb, so you can put around 150 TV shows on your iPod, or the equivalent of 56 hours of Movie (give or take a few)

The ipod you are talking about can have music videos, photos, games, and movies on it. OH and of course music!!! You can bye the music games and music videos off iTunes.
