Is y= 1/x^2 a one to one function?

I saw that it crosses the horizontal twice.

a "one to one" function is a function where any 'y' answer can result from only one 'x'... so for every x you put in there is only one y answer. this is not a one to one because of the square root. if x = 2 the answer is 1/4 but if x = -2 the answer is also 1/4. not one to one.

It is a function because it passes the vertical line test.
