You have choices everyday. You could say the choices you make were predetermined, but predetermined by what? God is the only logical answer, and that is not the case, because if He did predetermine our actions, there would be no evil in the world.

In one sense it is predetermined, while in another sense it is not. The predetermined part of life is the path that one must find (the only path of life itself) and the choice part of life is when you get to the crossroad and choose the bumpy road, and keep choosing dead ends. When choice wears one out, they head for the crossroad again, make the other choice and then are on a "predetermined" path where choices have already been made.

Interesting question!!!!! I think we have choices in life, but at the same time there's is a guidance on what we should do. Clues and symbols may make us think life is predetermined but we see what we want to see in life.

I believe that choice is largely illusion. You will be hard pressed to get someone to admit it, but almost everything we do is not based on a true choice. We have preferences that were determined by our genes and environment that we really had no control over. If I choose to eat M&M's because I've eaten them before and I liked them and I have the biochemestry to crave them, is it really a choice?

Even when faced with something completley new, we almost aways will go along with predetermined set patterns of behavior.

For 99.999% of all our "choices" in 99.999% of all humans, there is no choice.

However, that leaves us with a tiny fraction of people, who make a tiny fraction of their choices from a place of total freedom. Some people may consider them enlightened, but they are free from the constraints of their history to make a true choice in each moment. These are the only people who's life is not predertimined.

The question is then, "Are you one of them?" If not, "Do you want to be?"

there is always a choice. even the thinnest of paper has two sides. for example, i've read in one of the opinions here that if we crave for an m&m, we will eat that because we want it and we don't have a choice.
