Please explain to me why Sen Rangel keeps calling for the draft. When he got a vot in 2005 after calling for the draft he voted against the draft bill. So by action and deed he is quite obviously against the draft. Why this dishonest grandstanding. Politics at is purest I guess.

He is trying to make a point. Some Repubs including McCain want to continue the war on an even larger scale. Rangel says if you want more troops you will have to use the draft. He knows and the Repubs know that if the draft was re-instated there would be huge protests and hell to pay. In other words, he is calling their bluff. They will have to wind down the war instead of trying to make it bigger.

Politicians change colors like chameleons depending upon the situation to become popular. Thus, Sen. Rangel changes his decisions regarding the draft depending upon the need for grandstanding.

This senator rangel is a nut.he needs to be put out of office, I will support the other candidate with as much money as I can afford to give to his opponent.that's for damn sure.we have to get out of Iraq. and not make war in Iran which is coming up next., what the hell do the feds think there doing , all this is not in the best interests of the American people. just Israel. we need to leave those middle eastern country's alone.my people didn't fight every war this country has seen, so we can take over and control the whole damn world. we need to take care of our own people.

The draft is a stupid idea, if I ever get called for the draft I'm applying for Canadian citizenship.
