No, absolutely not. I am an Michigan State student, and all I heard last week from the stupid UM fans at my school who can't get over the fact that their not smart enough to get into Michigan, is how wonderfull the UM defense is, well OSU put up 42 point after turning the ball over 3 time, two of which were just poor snaps. You don't score 42 points and give the ball up 3 times. The only reason UM stayed in the game was because they scored after those stupid t.o's that OSU gave up. Sure, it's possible that Michigan is truely the #2 team in the nation, and USC would most likely get crushed by Smith and the Bucks, but if they win out, the Trojans deserve the chance, as does UF if they beat Arkansas for the SEC Championship.

As an Ohio St. fan, I would hate to see Michigan get another shot. However, I believe that right now, the "number one contender" order goes like this: USC, Florida, Michigan. If USC runs the table against Notre Dame and UCLA, they should get the game. Should they lose either game, then they go to the Rose Bowl and Florida gets in if they win out. But if the Gators lose to Florida St. or Arkansas, then we're back to Michigan. Right now, they are the only three teams that deserve a spot in the national championship. Say what you want about Notre Dame, Arkansas, West Virginia, and even Boise St., but there are only three teams that truly have an argument to play against Ohio St. for the title.

here's my analysis:
southern cal and notre dame: have not done enough in my opinion. most of their wins have been close calls all season... including some close calls against some very weak teams..
michigan: if you can't win your conference, then you shouldn't be in the title game.. otherwise, it is a slap in the face to the other 5 BCS conference winners. even if Michigan is the 2nd best team according to polls, it's just not fair to exclue the others.
arkansas and florida has blown out just about everyone they played.. the SEC is a very tough conference.. the winner of this game deserves serious consideration if they are still a one-loss team.
big 12 & Acc winners: sorry, a two-loss team should not play in the title game
big east: many people are biased against this conference. a one-loss West Virginia Big East winner, also deserves serious consideration for title game in my opinion. If people don't think the Big East is good enough, then the conference should be stripped of their BCS Conference designation. But until that happens, we have to take the Big East winner seriously.
Boise St: congrats if you go undefeated, but you need to prove it week after week against BCS schools to get my vote.. weak schedule = no title game.
my final call:summary, i'd finalize the title game based on the following priorities:
1) Ohio State vs a one-loss SEC champ
2) Ohio State vs a one-loss Big East champ
3) Ohio State vs Michigan
4) Ohio State vs southern cal/notre winner

If USC wins, then USC should face Ohio State.
If ND wins, then maybe Notre Dame should play Ohio State. But remember, Michigan beat the Irish 47-21. Or maybe the winner of the SEC Championship Game (Arkansas or Flordia) should play Ohio State.

We don't want no stinking rematch with OSU. They won fair and square. Michigan will meet them again this time next year at the Big House. We won't care what each other's rankings are then either... it's always a great game!
Go Blue!!

If Michigan finishes ranked second in the BCS, they will get the rematch. It doesn't matter if people think they deserve it or not.

meeeechigan wooolveweenies don't get a rematch with my Buckeyes UNLESS USC loses one of their last two games.
Anyway, whatever happened to the TIME immemorial mantra of the Elitist voter-gods of college football post season pairings that went something like this, "You can lose EARLY in the season and make up the ranking, but you CAN'T lose LATE in the season."
All of that has pretty damn much flown out the wind door, since all they wanna do is kiss meeeeechiGONE's ***!!!!!!!
EVEN if they do give my Buckeyes meeechiGONE wooolveweenies again, this time the game won't even be close,
'cause The Buckeyes will PLOW them into the DAMN GROUND!!!!!
GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!1

Definitely. Michigan lost to the number one team by three points. Can the other one loss teams say that their loss was to the nation's best team? No they can't.

I don't know if it would be fair, but I wouldn't complain if they met again for the National Championship.
