Yes, they're trying to convert people. They feel they should reach out to all those poor little unsaved kids on that most unholy night. Seriously. http://www.chick.com/seasonal/halloween/default.asp This site encourages passing out little Christian comics with candy and that's probably where most people get the idea from.

actually our church put together a safe place where kids could come to play games and win prizes and watch skits and we had a cake walk. We fed them hot dogs and chips. we did hay rides. People had a very good time. We had a christian band and stuff. No one had religion pounded into them. It was a clean safe environment. Maybe for some people that would seem to be a bad thing but I really don't see spending 2 minutes with a child with their parent and giving them a trinket bracelet that says love one another is a bad thing to do.

Yes they are trying to convert people. Some people simply aren't able to either avoid the holiday all together if it bothers them that much or enjoy it lightheartedly without turning it into something more serious than it is.

I don't see anything wrong with it, so what if they want to share their faith and love in the Lord. It's not like they are twisting anyone's arm. After all, you did knock on their door, they are not knocking on yours handing you religious material. And you should go through your kids' stuff before they have it, if you find it offensive take it out.

Halloween or All Hallow's Eve as it was known long ago, is actually the eve of All Saints' Day. The children use to dress up as saints instead of ghouls and other horrible things. So to give out bibles instead of candy is celebrating the day the way it should be observed

Basciclly they are expressing their belief in their religion and want people to be like them which honestly God would not want to have happen. We are allowd to be diffrent and to me that's what makes us a world and a community.I hope this info was useful. Thank You for your time and have a wondeful Thanksgiving!!

perhaps the scripture at Ephesians 5:10,11 will help it says to keep making sure of what is acceptable to the lord and quit sharing with them in the unfruitful works that belong to darkness, but rather, even be reproving them.
many view Halloween as very pagan. something detestable to the true god. so they were politely giving you their viewpoint hope this helps
