is 1) pleased that Christmas seems to be more and more of a reflection of carry-overs from ancient Pagan rituals, or 2) are upset about same? In other words, did the Christians takeover the Pagan rituals, or vice-versa??
And, if you would please, identify if you are a Christian or a Pagan. Thanks!

(sorry that I put this under "Entertainment" / Polls and Surveys, but the catagories aren't very flexible...)

I beleive in God.I don't know what that makes me.Everyone has their own idea of their own God.I took a religion class in college and I would just never judge anyone's belief's unless they were harming anyone or anything alive. I happen to celebrate Christmas because it's a time for sharing and giving gifts.Gifts of ones self or homemade gifts or purchased.I give gifts to show my love. What is in my heart is all that matters.I am spending quality time with the people I care about the most. And even that is a gift.I don't know if Christmas was a pagan holiday or vice a versa,I do know that things change daily, meanings of words change, and people change. For example,The word threshold came from a time when floors were made of dirt.Thresh was used at the front door to keep the dirt from blowing around. But you won't find thresh in houses today even though we still use the word for that part of our homes.I do not want to offend anyone reading this so I would like to say that everyone is "who they are" Just who they are.To me that is acceptable.I'm saying this because of my next two examples. They are only words. The real definition of the word ******,is a bundle of small sticks. And the real definition of the word gay is happy. These innocent words were changed to hurt innocent people. My point is that things change for the good and for the bad.What-ever our ancestors did for-ever ago needs to stop having such an impact on us.We were not there,we did nothing wrong,We harmed no-one.Christmas lives in your heart. But,I'll tell you what I don't like. The Christmas songs and gifts coming out before Halloween and Thanksgiving. It makes me crazy. But that's my problem,no-one makes me feel this way or react to it like I do.It's all a personal choice.

It was a pagan festival to start out with - it was a festival called Saturnelia which was to celebrate the birth of the SUN, as opposed to the SON. Scholars admit that they don't know the exact date of Jesus' birth and that it was not likely to be December 25th because the shepherds wouldn't have been out in the fields with their flocks in the winter.
But really, the origin doesn't matter too much as long as there's a ham and a few cold beverages.

many all of us is dealing with the comparable subject, you're actually not on my own. Im specific your husband is sufficiently previous to understand why an x-container is probably no longer potential precise now...get him something you think of he will savour yet with a smaller fee ticket. you may constantly replace presents for the different after the trip trips and get fot your toddlers now:o) once you initiate feeling unhappy only think of and be grateful your toddlers are healthful and which you have eachother....(Walmat had super toys this year for the toddlers and the closer to Christmas in line with threat they are going to pass on sale!)

I could care less about the origins of the holiday, just to know that I am free to celebrate it and my family is there to help celebrate it.
I have no specific religion.

I'm going to be honest, I could care less who created the holiday I just like getting presents for my family and friends and I'm neither.

I'm confused on what your question is asking...I'm Christian and I love Christmas.

(I probably sound like an idiot because I don't understand the question, but that's okay right?!)
