I have donated for years. Sometimes, I have soreness. It depends on if they miss my vein or who pokes me. I donate platelets now instead of whole blood and they use a bigger needle. I can be sore for a few days to a week later, and sometimes I have no bruising where other times I look like I have been beaten. It varies. If you have questions. You should call the center where you donated and they will answer your questions and have advice for you. Happy Thanksgiving.

If your arm is thin and they had trouble finding the vien then it may hurt but just for a few days afterwards you are saying a week I dont think this is related to giving blood you should go back to where you gave blood that may save you the money for a doctors visit if you cant do that then go to the doctors for a check up to find the problem one thing though if you work with your hands and arm as a job after the giving of blood then maybe that is why it is slow in healing only you know that but as others say when in doubt check it out .Good luck

I suggest that you seek medical attention. It's very possible that you may have a blood clot caused from the needle tearing a vein. You should have no discomfort after a blood test other then the insertion point which may be a bit tender for a hour or so. If you are starts to bruise this is a sign of subcutaneous bleeding and should be monitored closely. It's also possible that they just hit a nerve, but better safe then sorry, get to the doctor and have it checked immediately.

Normal is when after two days, you feel absolutely okay! Maybe, you need to check with the doc!

yup, same as being on a drip.

I was on a drip for a few days, then my arm was still sore a few days after they took it off.
