I smoke a lot of weed (please dont judge me. i dont have a criminal record, i have a good job, and im saving up money for college. im almost 20.) but is cannibis a stimulant or depressant? or somewhere in between? Look at this graph on wikipedia. they lable weed and THC as somewhere in between being a stimulant, depressant, and psychedelic. it must be a little of all of these. scroll down on the page a little to view the graph.

A relaxant? I don't know. Funny cause I know A LOT on the subject. I'm glad to see you are so open about smoking it. I get into debates often with folks who have never tried it and don't realize that tons of people smoke it, I've met people from all walks of life. Old, young, professionals and yes regular old pot-head types.
I agree that it affects people differently, but smoking as much as I have I would also dare to say that the breed of plant you smoke affects it as well.
Hey one tip boy, I'm 24 and just graduated from college,
lay off it a little while you're in school, if you really want to be successful. Also keep in mind that some employers might drug test so it is smart to be clean around graduation time.
Good luck!

It's a little bit of everything.

It's a stimulant because it increases your heart rate, makes you hungry, and makes you paranoid,

It's a depressant because it puts you to sleep and relaxes your muscles

It's a hallucinogen because it causes minor hallucinations at high doses

Marijuana is a stimulant, alchohol is a depressant. It goes by your brains reaction to the substance.

sounds like you know as much as anyone else on the subject, maybe it depends on the system of the person smoking it, when i was young it was a stimulant(got up and cleaned my room and did my chores), when i got older it was a depressant (vegged on the couch and watched stupid tv shows) never experienced the psychedelic side of it. i'm about twice as old as you and no criminal record either, quit just lately too, just wasnt a productive thing to do anymore.

I smoked pot for almost 30 years and cigerrettes for a little longer. I had my first cigerette at 3 yrs. and smoked regularly at 5 yr.for a year then started as a constant smoker at 14 then started smoking pot at 15. I smoked a total of ~1/3 my body weight ( I weight 195 lb.). It is, like everything else a matter of moderation. I was not moderate in my usage. I was using it as an escapism tool. It keep my decision making at a very juvenille level for what would be considered the majority of my life. I overcame booze, many different kinds of drugs and ways of ingesting them. My health was in serious jeapordy. Then I felt I needed to live my life . I was dying my life and not facing the fears of my childhood traumas.
It is what ever you want it to be until you are able to no longer need it in your life. When it becomes something you do not want you are free to smoke or not. It does serve a purpose for each individual to grow and learn. Some people learn faster than others about certain things and some do not. By loving your self and forgiving yourself you are free to make choices that are best for you. Not so that you fit in or don't. No one else lives your life only you and therefore you have the personal responsiblity to live your life honouring you. When you love you you hear / feel your intuition and do what you need to because you want to. Sounds a lot like destiny as opposed to fate pushing your buttons and re - acting to what ever comes your way.I like to make my choices for me. I love me and I forgive me.
I judge you not and good for you for not judging your self. The first major step to loving you. I do ask that you look / feel as to why you smoke and not give a second thought as to what some web site says or what any one else has to say about anything includung me. Be true to you and feel what you need to feel. I feel that you are avoiding a part of you that hurts and do not want to feel. Like in your dreams and waking life face that which you fear most and it shall no longer have power over you.

My opinion .. In between .. but no psychedelic .. I dont know anyone who sees weird things when high. It would lean more towards a stimulant it calms you but it does not make you sad right?

It's classified as a hallucinogen, so it's neither.
