Freddie Mercury was terrific. I never cared for Zepplin because of Plants' voice.

TOUGH QUESTION!!! Its like comparing Indiana Jones to Lara Croft! Freddie could play piano and his range is BRILLIANT---though after their 'operatic rock' trademark withered after "The Game" album---they were still COOL. Robert Plant's a different case---the blend of Jimmy Page's magical acoustic playing with the Les Paul riff pandemonium with Plant's wailing and poetic lyrics----is legendary! Plant is the BEST ( arguably).

Ouch !! tough question to answer, seem so simple but it's really hard. But i try my best to answer. Here is my opinion :
Robert plant, one the most attractive, most talented, and one of the greatest vocalist in rock music. He bring his band led zeppelin to be the number 1 rock band in the world, it's not easy. And robert have a huge contribute to this, his voice always will be remembered by the one who love rock music nowadays. And he also bring led zeppelin to be one of the "father" of metal music, there will be no metal music, if there is no led zeppelin.
Freddie mercury, is also a genius musician the ever live in this planet, rock music that we know is really very attractive because of his voice and his band. This genius man is really make the rock music to be known very well by the world. Freddie is the most talented, genius musician, a great entertainment, and have a voice that no one ever have it. His falsetto voice is really amazing to hear.
But if i have to choose from both of them, i will choose Robert, cause his band and his music that rule the metal music until now.
Hail to you to know both of these genius musician.

They are both wonderful... I would have to go with Robert Plant though. He is 56 and have you heard the CD "Mighty Rearranger"? Oh does it rock! It is like he is giving the finger to all of the these young wannabes.... he can roll out of bed and smoke them. Listen to the tracks "Tin Pan Valley", "Shine it All Around", and "Freedom Fries"... not to mention the blistering version of "Hey Joe"... Wow is all I can say.

Both powerful vocalists, but If FM was still alive,he would still sing well, where plant has lost it.
