The most disturbing movie I ever saw was a movie called Johnny Got His Gun. It was an anti-war move about a farm boy who joint the army and went to war. He stepped on a landmine and lost both legs and both arms along with most of his face. The story mostly takes place after the accident. Doctors keep him alive (believing he is in a vegetative state) to test the affects of drugs on his body. All of the movie is disturbing but the two scenes that will stay with me forever are one where Johnny come to the realization of his situation one grueling limb at a time. the other is when Johnny remembering having learned morris code in the boy scouts begins beating out a message with his head. At first the doctors think his is having a seizure but one recognizes the SOS code. Taping on Johnny's chest they come to the horrific realization he has been cognitive all along. After a brief exchange the doctor who was using the morris code stands up an advises the other doctors that he is only repeating one ting now, what is it one of them asks...kill me.

I have to agree with Joe A. Johnny got his gun is, to say the least, extremely disturbing. I saw it in the 70's and remember snippets.
Schindler's list is another one. When the movie ended nobody said a word, the theatre emptied without a comment. On the drive home I couldn't stop crying.

an american haunting. not because it was scary, it wasn't. Just because it showed the horror that is in our natures. It depicts a daughter who is haunted by the memory of being raped. I find rape to be very disturbing, and the result of it. the loss of control so terrifying. It touches your deep fears that at any moment something could happen to u, that u are unsafe, and in this case unsafe even in your own home, with the people u should be able to trust.

Natural Born Killers with Woody Harrelson. Also, a Clockwork Orange is pretty out there too.
