It is to commemorate the historical event of the Native Americans giving food and other help to the pilgrims. Of course, we later thanked them by killing their families and stealing from them. Really nice way to show their appreciation isn't it?

To "give thanks" but that really doesn't make sense, because the white man showed up tooke evrything thing they "discoved" aka STOLE, and began the slow process of raping our country. And we celebrate this with a holiday? How grotesque!
