Are you kidding? Have you not noticed the prices of homes in Florida through the National News sites?

I LIVE in Florida (near the Gulf Coast), and yes, where I purchased (and this is the Home I purchased a couple of decades ago -- kept while stationed elsewhere in the Military, and Retired back here) -- and there are NO MORE sites where you can purchase by the acre (like I did) and build a decent size private home for $250K -- I'll even go so far as to say that you will not even find a townhome in that price range nowadays.

Now Georgia -- in some of the less populated areas -- yes, you are going to be able to find acre lots and a decent home for that price (yes, know some of the areas through the Military too).

Have you thought about Alabama as well?
