"Barbara Walters said Wednesday all is now "well with the world" following a flare-up earlier this week between Rosie O'Donnell and Kelly Ripa on "The View."
Ripa called in to the ABC daytime talk show after co-host O'Donnell accused her of making a homophobic comment to Clay Aiken, a guest host on "Live With Regis and Kelly."
Aiken covered Ripa's mouth with his hand during an interview on Friday's show. Ripa, 36, pushed his hand away.

"Oh, I'm in trouble," said the 27-year-old "American Idol" star, to which Ripa responded, "No, I just don't I don't know where that hand's been, honey."
O'Donnell said Tuesday on "The View": "If that was a straight man, if that was a cute man, if that was a guy that she didn't question his sexuality, she would have said a different thing."
Ripa said O'Donnell misunderstood her remark.
"He's shaking hands with everybody in the audience. I mean, it's cold and flu season. That's what I meant," she said. "And to imply that it's anything homophobic is outrageous, Rosie, and you know better."
"I understand cold and flu season," O'Donnell replied. "I'm just saying from where I sit as a gay person in the world, I have to tell you, that's how it came off to me."
Aiken has been the target of speculation about his sexuality. Tabloid reports earlier this year suggested he had a gay affair. Aiken has never directly addressed the rumors.
Roger Widynowski, Aiken's spokesman at RCA Records, declined comment on the Ripa-O'Donnell flare-up when contacted by The Associated Press.
On Wednesday's "The View," Walters said, "Rosie O'Donnell is one of the kindest, most sensitive people I know. And so is our friend Kelly Ripa. And Rosie and Kelly talked yesterday after the show. Rosie and Clay Aiken have talked. And all is well with the world, and all is well with them."
Walters said her speech was unrehearsed and that O'Donnell was unaware she was going to say something."

The hand over the mouth incident was I think the final straw for Kelly. I caught the whole show on youtube and it appears that the two began having snide comments after a replay of Ripa dressing up and lip syncing as Clay last Halloween. He didn't take it as a joke as it was intended and you can see how Kelly struggled to keep things light during the show. He even made a comment about not going to the big wedding (joke) to host the show with her, although he was second guessing that decision (not joking). Throughout the show, there was some tension between them and I think she was fed up with his snide remarks and wasn't going to let him speak much. Personally, I think she was trying ot help him because he was coming across like a jerk. That's when he covered her mouth.
I didn't see what happened with Rosie, but from what I did see between Clay and Kelly, I'd say Rosie is making an absurd accusation. Kelly was no way coming across homophobic.

Rosie became no longer the bit least in contact approximately Clay Aiken, she became in basic terms in contact approximately working her mouth for scores! So she could desire to resign the shenanigans! via the way, did Clay ever admit to being gay? From the final i've got heard, he by no ability did, so how could desire to Kelly recognize that? Rosie is purely jealous that she has to share the spotlight with 3 different women folk and Kelly is the sole woman on Regis and Kelly that visitors look at.

Clay was substituting for Regis on Friday.
While interviewing the winners from Dancing with the Stars, Kelly kept talking and asking questions and wouldn't let Clay get in on the conversation. So he put his hand over her mouth and she pushed it back and had a look of disgust on her face.
Then on Monday, she announced to everybody on NATIONAL television that she felt the Clay Aiken was very disrespectful and and that she didn't appreciated him putting his hand over her mouth.
Two hours later on The View Rosie O'Donnell felt that Kelly demeanor towards the hand over mouth situation was 'homophobic' and Kelly called the show LIVE and they both aired out their differences respectfully and left it at that.

Clay was guest hosting for Regis with Kelly and they were interviewing the Dancing with the Stars people and Kelly as usually does not shut up so Clay put his hand over her mouth. (ok he should not have done it) and Kelly said that is not allowed and who knows where that hand has been.
Rosie took offense (WHAT? Yes she took it upon herself to tell kelly Ripa off) She said that Kelly only said that because Clay is gay (Great even Clay never told anyone he is gay but Rosie is telling it) and she called Kelly homophobic.
Kelly in turn called the view and told Rosie that it had nothing to do with gay/straight and everything to do with germs and her 3 kids during cold and flu season.
Clay sent Kelly flowers and an apology but you can bet your bippie that Rosie apologized to no one.

clay put his hand on kellys mouth and she pushed it away saying "i dont know where that hand has been" or something. and since no one knows whether clay is gay or straight, rosie, being gay, took offense, calling kelly a homophobe. but in reality, kelly just moved his hand bc he was shaking everyone in the audience's hand and it is also flu season. i think they sorted it all out now
