I am from Australia and find it the same over here. I personally think it is wrong. As long as the nudity and sexual behaviour isn't trashy I don't mind it. I'd far prefer my kids see a naked person (after all it's only natural) than see someone be violent to another. I don't know how our society came to the conclusion that violence is OK. Sad.

I think neither are called for. The old movies where violence and sex was left to the viewer's imagination were much better.
As far as which is worse, I would have to say sex because it stirs up emotions and hormones that need a release -- usually not a healthy manner (e.g. outside of marriage). I also think that plastering sex on a movie screen cheapens it. Whereas sex is a beautiful thing between a husband and a wife.
Of course graphic violence cheapens the sanctity of human life. It makes people callus to other people's pain and suffering -- pity many people see that as entertainment.

I think they're both unacceptable and I'm sorry I can't make a preference for one over the other.
But here's what I can't understand. We've got all this out of control sex and violence running rampant in our movies and on television yet they'll bleep out a four letter word or a pair of breast to give the impression or allusion that they have such high moral standards. What a crock. I think this is one of the things Jesus was talking about when he said(of the Pharisees and religious sects of His time), "You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!." (St. Matthew 23:24)

I find violence unnecessary. How many times I fast forward the scenes with violence and I feel that I did not miss a thing. Sex, I prefer those that look natural and between a "real couple" . I don't like those that meet and bang bang, For these, there is the porn.

For mainstream feminists, meaning members of organizations like NOW, the answer is clearly yes IF you change the word "advocate" to something like "find acceptable and sometimes cheer and joke about". There is a long string of such cases where NOW provided moral or legal support to female murderers, mutilators and batterers. NOW simply cannot bring themselves to criticize a woman unless that woman is anti-feminist. This is part of the reason why NOWs reputation in MRA circles is simply that of a bigoted organization.

normal sex shown in a loving manner is far better than violence. however most tv or movie sex is just screwing for the sake of lust.
