I used to have a picture perfect nose, one that in a profile view looked great and complimented my face. I am very satisfied with my body and all of my facial features except for my nose in the profile view, and when i smile it hooks down. Up until i was about 13 I had a nice small nose, but then it seems to have grown.

My question is, is it possible by the time I am 18 or 20 or so and my facial bone structure and body has finished developing, that my nose could possibly be in better proportion, shrink a little bit, go back to the form that it was in when I was younger or just get a tad bit smaller? Or would the only option be cosmetic surgery? Something which I would just hate to turn to. Before my nose got larger, I was so happy with the way I looked, and I desperately wish to be like that again. I realize the nose never stops growing, but putting that aside, is it still possible for it to get smaller or into better proportion or shape naturally?

Thanks

Your nose continues to grow throughout your lifetime. Thankfully, your facial features will also broaden and change as your grow into an adult. You will be able to get a bit of an idea of what your adult features may look like by looking at your parents and your extended family-aunts, uncles, first cousins and grandparents.

Wait until you are well into adulthood (late 20s or early 30s) and have finished growing before you start to worry. You will most likely find that your face and the rest of your body will change in such a way that your nose 'grows into' your face. A male friend of mine continued to see growth and body changes until he was about 33, so you need to be patient with yourself and your body.

The other things to remember are (a) most people will not notice your nose the way you do and (b) {as much as this may sound trite}, it is truly who you are inside, and not on the outside that is important. You may be slowly learning this now, and you will continue to learn it as you mature into adulthood.

I'm 32 (female), and my facial features have changed in the last year or so. I had surgery on my nose to fix a birth defect when I was 17 and changes continued to happen post-operatively for 5-6 years after, as my facial bones continued to grow and mature into their adult shape.

Sounds like you're still growing so wait until you're 20 nad see how your nose fits your face then. It won't get smaller - your nose and ears continue to grow your whole life. Look at older men and you'll see. A button nose on an adult face looks silly, so be proud of what you've got. Your looks will change and your nose will "fit" better once you're out of the awkward stage. And some ladies look at the size of your nose as an indication of the size of "other parts"!

It is entirely possible for your face and bone structure to expand and grow more into your nose. Until then I would find a way to become comfortable in your appearance.

Plastic surgery is probably the only way you'll be able to get your nose back the way you want it. It's very common for people's noses to change and grow in a way that is no longer attractive as they reach puberty. You should see my brother's nose!!!

Yeah it is possible for your face to grow into the nose but it will not shrink.
