it is fairly difficult to pull off a smokey eye. it takes a lot of practice. i've done it on my sister a couple of times. the first thing you need to do is find a picture of a smokey eye that you like, since there are different styles that make a huge difference in the way it comes out.
1. line the eyes with a black liner, i suggest not using liquid as it is not easily blendable.
i have a powder liner that works well and is easily blendable but is also easy to smudge on the rest of your face.
2. blend up your liner to the crease.
3. use a silvery or a shimmer beige shadow to continue blending upwards.
4. under the brow put a white powder to lift the brow.
curl lashes and mascara.
remember. practice a couple of times first. don't try this if you're about to go out. good luck!

I wear the smokey look all the time and I love doing it for myself and others. You first want to make sure your eyes are primed for it. Your eyebrows are neat and fixed and you have applied a few specks of loose powder under your eye to catch the eyeshadow that will fall. You don't want black eyeshadow or any dark color settling onto your makeup on your face. Doing this helps to catch it. Once you're done with that then it's time to follow these steps:
1) Apply a neutral color eyeshadow at your browbone or over your entire eyelid. Sometimes I apply color from a white pencil exactly right underneath my eyebrow to really define the neutral color, but you don't have to.
2) Apply a brownish color from the crease of your eye down to the lash line and blend.
3) Apply the darkest black (or any dark color you choose) at the lash line and blend.
**** Remember, you have to blend, blend, blend because one thing you don't want is for everyone to see is where your eyeshadows begin.
4) Line your eyelids with black eye pencil.
5) Define your eyelashes with at least two coats of mascara. I personally do three because I have long eyelashes and I like for them to stand out.
6) After you are sure that everything's blended well and you've done all the prior steps, take your powder brush and whisk away the loose powder that you had underneath your eyes. And follow with a neutral lip color of your choice (any color would do, but if you're wearing a smokey eye you want people to notice your eyes, not your eyes and lips).
***** Just make sure to remember you want your lips a subtle neutral color. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it just so the first time. It takes practice. Good luck.....

ok...get a creamy substance powder eyeshadow, like the cream eyeshadow that maybelline makes in a light color...like a biege or a gold....place that on your whole eyelid up to your brow bone...then only on your eyelid from your lash line up to your crease put on a black eyeshadow I use the Loreal one...and line your lash line with black eyeliner and put on two coats of mascara and then you are good to go...be sure to use a light sheer color lip gloss!!
