It's really going to depend on personal preference. I think hardcore gamers are probably eventually going to get both. So that answers the question there.

And for anyone else, I would say it depends on what kind of games you like. If you are a fan of fast paced action, cinematic intensive RPGs, heavy in-game movie sequences (which I'm sure PS3 will have plenty of), want blu-ray movies, HD, and don't mind paying a lofty price for a high-tech computer video game system hybrid, then PS3 would be a good choice. If you just want an affordable system to play games on, are new to games or open to a new playstyle, want to play every day or every now and then, are a fan of multiplayer games, and would like to explore more varied and even new genres, I'd say go with Wii.

I'm in love with the idea of the Wii, but I think I've realized I'm starting to like the PS3 more and more. The Wii is just awesome because of it's family fun and interactivity. But the PS3 focuses on hardcore gameplay and graphics. You will find great games on both. Good luck.

The Wii. Cheaper, more interactive, and who really cares about the graphics? As long as they are good, I am ok with it. The Wii also has much better games out, rather than the PS3, which only has a few. The games are also pricey, and Sony has few systems ready to go, while the Wii has tons. I think Sony's plan is to make the gamers wait, while Nintendo's is to get the systems out along with good games, and bring better memory and more interactive games out later. Sony was not prepared to start selling; they just wanted to get their system in the market when Nintendo does, and Nintendo was prepared to sell.
Bottom line is, the Wii.

PS3. Why?

Its games will be aimed at the mid teen & up (adults) audience. Playstation's games always seemed a bit better than nintendo, and the PS3 should be no exception--the graphic are going to be sick!

I know its pricey, that's why I'll be wise and advise you to wait until the lines start to thin.

If you want to play pretend swords, though, then you can get the Wii.

Don't know whats so special about it but it cool that i won it.

It really depends on what you like. If you like Hevy graphics and lots of hard action, like Halo or Call of Duty, then go with the PS3, if yo're into interactivity and messing around,like those crappy touch games for the DS, then go with the Wii.
