How do you turn on the Speaker on the LG VX5200 phone so that it is the actual speaker?

My friends phone is a verizon phone almost like mine and he can put a speaker on and it comes on really loud and my phone is supposed to do that to but i dont know how to turn it on.

I have the vx8100,and no where in owners manual will it tell you. Hold down clr key for 2 or 3 seconds. It works for me.
