I'm looking to purchase a music player (one that will do MP3's becuase I am tired of carrying around a bulky Cd player.)
But i am not a fan of the whole Ipod thing (or their price, for that matter)

Can anybody tell me of a good, reliable brand of player that is realatively (Relatively) reasonably priced? I'm not looking for something over 1 GB of memory, but I don't want something dinky either.

Please help (serious answers only please, those that are not serious will be reported)

Thanks so much!

If you don't want to get an iPod, get a SanDisk Sansa. They are the second best music player behind the iPod in market sales.

www.anythingbutipod.com

It has tons of information about non-apple brand mp3 players -- from the massive feature laden devices to relatively simple and cheap ones.

EDIT:

Click on the different brands to see the products offered. Some are pretty expensive as they are meant to be portable media players, others seem to be relatively the same price as the iPod.

Philips seems like it is what and what with the nano. But it isn't an iPod....

I definitely have a imaginitive Zen(20 gig). it relatively is the main suitable investment i've got made in a protracted time. Ipods are overexpensive and undependable. For the fee of a 4 gig Ipod, you may get a 20 gig imaginitive. Plus, Creatives have diverse effective factors.

I would say the best alternative is Creative. I would go looking for MP3 players on tech.yahoo.com and look under price comparison of the item for where to buy it.. mainly recommended for people in the USA as it is made for that, although some of the websites under price comparison can ship abroad..although may need a power converter.

i have an mp3player it holds 90 songs and was about $40 (it was actully on sale so it probably costs around $50) but it's not dinky, it's white with different colored flowers but don't worry they're not little kid flowers they're like cool teen fllowers (if ur not a teen this mp3 probably isn't 4 u) and i've had it for about 4 months now and it takes batteries.
