Someone who asked a question about Michael Richards got me to thinking, I think we live in a hypersensitive society. Everything must be absolutely politically correct. I mean, God Bless America, home of the Holiday Tree. Don't get me wrong, our Kramer screwed up. He made a total *** of himself. But can't our society APPRECIATE our differences and history instead of trying to whitewash everything to appeal to the masses? Our country had separate bathrooms for Whites and Blacks. I'm Black. I make fun of it. (It makes people uncomfortable but what the hell?) Comments?

BigBuggie5, I agree. Although, the term ******, because of America's history is offensive when said by Whites to Blacks. Like if I called a White person a redneck, I don't think it would be as bad because that history isn't there (unless of course he was offended by that sort of thing).

Yes, I have termed it the "united states of the offended." Every person, race, sex, age groups and etc....have something to complain about and they do it all the time. They whine about who offended them or what offends them. I am in the army, I am in charge of a platoon of 17 men. Of those 17, i have one korean-american (full blooded korean), one 1/2 american 1/2 korean, one korean (literally), two italian americans, two black (one my boss), one 1/2 black 1/2 white and the rest of the guys are white. We make jokes all the time with each other because we know the other is only JOKING!!!! I really wish americans would get some "thick skin." I really can't wait for the day when the races are so mixed that no one will be able to claim anything other than the human race. We will celebrate cultures, not races.

I think the media makes a big deal out of it. Blacks make fun of whites as well and they also call themselves ****** but when a white person says something like that they act really shocked.

As bad as his comment was what about towards the end of the incident when they called him a "Cracker" and a "F**cking Whiteboy" And I havent heard anything about their apology's for their racist remarks yet..

It's a double standard! The fact that rappers say the "N" word (No I don't use it!!) all the time!! And you hear all these little hip hop clowns refer to themselves as it again every other word...I have no problem with the fact that he snapped and called them something they probably refered to themselves as all day long anyway....It was the comment that precipitated it

"If it was 50 years ago you'd be hanging upside down with a fork in your a*s" That blew my mind...

Something like that just doesn't roll off your tongue unless you've thought about it before..That was unbelievably offensive and crossed every line there was to cross in my mind!! The dudes career has been dead for years. So I can't even say he buried himself with that comment...But he sure let people know where his mind lies..He's racist no if's ands or buts about it

we are governed by the pleas of the weak.

people cannot handle truths and so we have to alter our behaviours to suit. lazy is lazy, and fat is fat. but we cant say it.

the weak that control our minds are weakening society to the point we are unsure of what is right and wrong. we know within ourselves what is, but we dont trust our feelings anymore.

the bleeding hearts have created an evil far worse than name calling. good luck to them when it all falls down.
