Here's the deal, I went to rent a movie at the local video store. I was planning to ask the store clerk if they have seen Brokeback Mountain. The impression I got was that the clerk was gay and I didn't ask him. Was I right? Or should I have asked?

Silly to change who you are out of fear for how another might react to it!!!

If you really wanted to know, you should have asked.

Some folks are more sensitive to feeling like they are being victimized or made fun of but that is really their problem so long as you are respectful and sincere!

So you didn't ask what you wanted to ask because you assumed that the clerk was gay?
Yeah, you should have asked if that's the movie you wanted to rent. What difference would it have made to the clerk? Did you think he was going to act out a scene from the movie for you?
