You can check out Oriental Trading Company for some great ideas. Otherwise, my kids and I glue the craft sticks on the inside of a clementine box (standing upright like a picket fence) , paint it, decorate it, and put a potted plant inside and give to the grandmas as gifts for Mother's Day, Christmas, etc.

I use a wood burning tool to make book marks. Tongue depressors work better though.

something i used to like to do was build towers with them. like you can build the base as a square, and go up from there. or you can make little houses, or something like that.
