The word love is a profound feeling of tender affection for someone or something. When we use it casually such as as way of "thanking" someone for something, it maybe not be the right term to use. It is not unsual to use the term as often as we do, but the phrase "I love you" is often reserved as a way of expressing to another person affection. Some people save it for "real" love because they may have not yet experienced a connection of tender affection for someone else. Love is really a powerful thing!

I use it only for people I love - my husband, children, and grandchildren. I would not use it in situations where I didn't really love the other person. Yes, I think it is a but unusual to say "I love you" lightly and not mean it. Why not try some other compliment, such as "You're the greatest" or whatever makes sense to you?

I use it often too but to my husband and children.
I rarely use it to any acquaintances but have some dear friends that will hear it when the mood strikes - usually when I am just really grateful they are friends...
Love is an adoration or admiration for another. Think about whether you adore the person or the act of that person!

well its not exactly a phrase that can just get tossed around like a basketball. I mean you could use it to try and be sweet and cute. Depends on whether people get offended by it. You have obviously recieved an unfavorable response at least once or you would not be asking this. You may confuse people! Instead of using it so casually just say "thank you" or " you are so sweet" or "this is greatly appreciated" etc...

There is nothing wrong with saying I love you like that if you do . I tell my friends to but maybe not as much as you are talking about . I probably
tell my husband I love him at least 3 to 4 times a day .

My new wife and I say it early in the morning, and everytime we have to leave each other on an errand.
I hope we always will. We have been married 2 years, and they have been the happiest two years of my life. Mainly because we love each other and we have the guts to say it.
If you love people they may temporarily get mad at you, but they will always forgive a loving person; that person seems to be you.

love ya is cute for when someone does you a favor but even I stop myself from using to much.
Save I love you for the people you really love it's just too precious of words.

i say i love u to my boyfriend when i say goodbye i dont say it too often becuz i dont want it to be overdone and lose its meaning, i think saying it too much makes it lose meaning and that person wont feel the real love from u when u say it and actually truly feel it at that moment, use the word love sparingly it can get u in a lot of if u iuse it wrong!

I only tell my boyfriend that I love him. Usually I don't when I say it.
I know I love a person, but I only realise it when I think about losing them or all they've done for me, I don't really like thinking about it either. I don't like being loved.
