I suppose if I had to pin it down to just one...It would most likely have to be a character from Marvel Comics called Doctor Strange. Simply put, he had no real powers himself. All of the power and skill he had was due to long study and training. he wasn't born with the vase mystical power he weilded, he had to learn to use it. I have always found that characters that had imborn abilities (like the x-men), or those that gained them through some sort of accident (like Flash, or spiderman) were not characters that I could really find any sort of genuing connection with, while characters that had to develop their skills or powers (Like Doctor Strange, Dr. Fate, Batman, Gren Arrow) seemed to me to be more reachable, as it were.

I like spiderman, because he is a nerd in real life, who apparently bit by a mutant spider. Very much human I would say. And I like the quote: "Along with great power, comes great responsibility".
