My period starts with brownish spotting for two or three days and followed by a heavy flow for 4 to 6 days then slowly stop after 12days in all. I hope to seek some medical advise on herbal or traditional healing or any way best for treatment. I'm a mother of a five month baby boy.

Going on the pill will help to regulate your period. Go to the GP or a Family Planning Clinic.

Your periods may be irregular for quite a while after you had a baby, if you are breast feeding you could ask for the mini pill which is safe to use, that helped me after my daughter was born. But eventually my periods became irregular again and have been for 10 years I bleed for 8 days which is awful. Talk to your GP and he may be able to give you some tablets that slow down the bleeding and is a better alternative to the pill. You may find your periods stay like this until you have another child, but whatever happens don't be afraid to keep getting on at the GP and he may refer you to gynae. Hope you will be ok.x

Two options spring to mind either the contaceptive pill or a coil will help this problem.
I am not sure as to any natural treatment you would have to go to a herbalist for advise on this.

I've been writing on nutrition and health for 30 years. Irregular periods are often caused by magnesium deficiency (80% of women are deficient in magnesium). See: http://www.foodforthought.org.uk/specifi... - follow the links there for more information
