They are already starting to teach kids at a young age that the holiday wasn't celebrated by pilgrims and Indians, and that we slaughtered native Americans. I love thanks giving don't get me wrong but with the political correctness in America today, I wouldn't be suprised if I live to see the day when the holiday is either re-named or abolished.

Are you serious? When I was taught about Thanksgiving we were taught about the first meal, and how they were befriending each other. Sure it's true, they did do so to the Indians, but do teachers really have to teach such young students? I guess if they keep this up, sadly, Thanksgiving won't be lasting too long. Although, I'm sure it will still be celebrated by some families.

Thanksgiving to me is about being thankful for all my blessings. It is one of the few times of the year when families make a real effort to be together. I don't think people are getting together to celebrate the first feast. It is a time for your family to get together. We will always celebrate that.

to me its not really about the traditional things anymore anyways, its just about being thankful for what you have, and as long as we are all thankful, i think we'll still have thanksgiving.
