A fascination with everything Aussie, honestly. I had a bud in college who was from Brisbane, and he was the boldest guy I've ever met, bordering on "nut".... but hey, I'd love to visit your land.

Please, for Aussies, what would make a REAL, IN-DEPTH experience different from just another Tour of Australia??

*assume an unlimited amount of funds to spend, OK, Mate?**

I'm an Australian and we enjoy total freedom as it is a huge country and not a real big population. You could enjoy seeing Australia by either traveling by coach or train (long distance) as it would be the cheapest and possibly the best way. The cities are fairly friendly and the country people are really hospitable. I would suggest you make your point of entry into Australia to Cairns and from there you can travel down the east coast stopping at Brisbane,Sydney,Canberra then Melbourne. Take the Indian Pacific train across the Nullarbor plains which takes a couple of days and you arrive in Perth, Western Australia. Recommend from there you ask for some further directions at any travel agency as they are all friendly and helpful. As an Australian;
I love a sunburned country
A land of sweeping plains
Of rugged mountain ranges
Of droughts and flooding rains
I love her far horizions
I love her jewelled sea
Her beauty and her terror
That sunburned lands' for me.

I hope you enjoy your time in Australia and perhaps you might consider making her your permanent home?

Sydney Harbour bridge, sydney opera house, monkey mia or shark bay north of Perth in Western Australia

in Queensland you can go to Dreamworld but you can find these sorta theme parks anywhere
great barrier reef is a great place to go when you wanna enjoy sunshine beach and ocean

Fraser island is also good place to holiday

Alice Springs or Uluru at central Australia is a great place to interact with the aboriginal way of life

and don't expect to see kangaroos or koalas everywhere because they simply aren't!

if you're going to stay interior the cities extremely than commute around the section i could say probable Sydney and Melbourne. Canberra is thrilling yet only for some days (3 max). Perth is a stunning city yet no longer as plenty to do interior the city itself. if you're going to commute around somewhat and head outdoors the cities for a pair of hourscontinual then the Perth section has plenty to do. it extremely is a confusing decision yet i could propose Perth and Sydney. It relies upon somewhat on the time of twelve months, Perth's wildflowers and carniverous plant life are great to be certain in spring.

I'm not Australian, but when I went there, I really enjoyed scuba diving parts of the Great Barrier Reef. It's just beautiful and amazing!
