an interesting book called _freakonomics_ talks about this. the rates are about the same. people will say airplane because there are so many fewer airplane crashes and so many car accidents. however, you drive X amount of times for every 1 time flying. calculating your likelihood of serious injury/death, they are about equal. neither is safer.

An airplane but the problem is you have to pay but other than that your fine. Just kick back and relax and you do not even have to worry. Drink soda. Watch a movie. Listen to music. Eat. Sleep. Play games. Then your there.I reccomend airplanes. I aso reccomend you get there at least an hour early. There's long lines. I'll stop here because your probably already bored of me talking or typing. Good Luck!

Airplane...it seems more dangerous because so many people die at one time instead of 1 or a couple with a car but overall the percentage of people dieing in airplanes are way lower then cars.

Can I just relay a sad and scary story to you? First of all, I am saying airplane tonight based on what i saw today. My son and i were traveling home from my mom and dad's and on the opposite side of the highway, there was a car which did not even resemble a car anymore. A truck had literally gone through it nad it just looked like a piece of metal. Later came to find out the person driving was killed!! Sad! Let's be careful out there!!

airplane.
why?
ans.
1. It carries lots of people at a time so safy matters more thus any airline will look after high standards of safety.
2. has 2 engines, if 1 fails the other do its duty.
3. plane made up of high strength materials like carbon fibre& its blends.
these r enough reason to say that the airplane is the safest.

Statistics show you're more likely to die in a car than in an airplane. Though my point of view is that a car won't be falling from a height of at least 20,000 feet when you crash. But you're less likely to be in a plane crash.

the rationalization you don't be attentive to that's interior the misunderstanding on your remark! At 30,000 there is not any "ordinary difficulty" that could harm you. you're literally miles from something that should harm you. A airplane could be 0.5 a mile off of it relatively is appropriate direction and it relatively is not a difficulty. If a bus motive force is 3 ft from his intend direction, people on the bus are in all probability to die. it ought to look that mechanical issues could be greater of a hazard at 30,000 than on street 30, yet it relatively is not the case ether. Planes are generally inspected, quite maintained and have redundant structures. in spite of if a mechanical difficulty happens, the airplane ought to not plummet from the sky. Planes do not prefer engines to land! i don't be attentive to the place you're from, yet in the U. S. there's a radio instruct observed as "automobile talk" the place people call-in with automobile maintenance questions. i admire this instruct, besides the undeniable fact that it relatively is startling what share every person is driving autos with a hundred and seventy,000 miles and extreme mechanical circumstances, that would not ought to be you for it to result your risk-free practices - if that '80 5 Lumina in the subsequent lane has it relatively is ball joint fail, it ought to be on your lane earlier you may react. between the biggest motives that planes are safer than autos is that we verify we study from any twist of destiny that does take place. each time there is an twist of destiny it gets thoroughly investigated, and if all conceivable steps taken to keep away from it relatively is recurrence. that could contain grounding entire fleets of planes! even while layout issues are recent in autos, we don't rigidity people to provide up driving them. while there have been all of those caught throttle issues in Toyota's a pair of years in the past. there exchange into no attempt to get them off of the line earlier it passed off lower back.
