I leave him out alot and I have got him to use newspaper most of the time (he won't use a litter box) But when he doesn't use the paper he always uses the corner by my door. I know it has alot to do with the smell so I probably need to steam clean it or something. But is there anything I could put there to keep him from going there? Or anything else I could do?

And I can't put newspaper or a litterbox there because like I said it's right by my door and I wouldn't be able to open it if I put something there... Is there any kind of spray or something that I could put there? Maybe something that smells bad that he won't like? I donno...

Put the litter tray in the corner. Teach him to use it by moving his poos into the litter tray to show him thats where they go.

Eh; I had the same problem when I got my ferret. It takes time for them to get used to the idea of using a litter box; try buying one that is specially designed for corners. You can find them at pretty much any petstore; also when you catch your ferret using the corner firmly tell him "No!" dont hit him or rub his nose in it... it does nothing. Pick the corner that he most often uses to place the litter pan & try putting some poop in there so he sort of gets the idea. If this doesnt work; try starting out in a smaller place at first & when he gets the idea of using the litter pan allow a bigger space for him to explore. Often place him in the litter box if he hasnt gone since coming out of his cage & if he's in a big area then try placing several around the room so it's more convenient. Treats are good too; however not everytime because other wise he will depend upon it. Since you said he uses a corner I really do think you should try the corner pan & perhaps experiment with different types of litter as well - good luck though.

Ferrets choose their corners...and looks like that is your ferrets favorite place. All you can do is put a litter pan or paper there. I keep mine caged most of the time and let him out a few hours a day after he has gone to the bathroom in his litter box in his cage.

Ferrets are known to poop in corners. They need a tall litter box too. They will always back up into the corner to poop. Most of the time they will poop in one corner and pee in another.

Get some "Bitter Apple" and spray it there each time he comes out to play. They don't care for the smell and chances are he will find another place to go.
