You always have the option of leaving the country.

You cannot defy a lawful order of the country because what you think might be wrong. If the country is really at fault, initiate an action or participate in a rally or group assailing the legality of the war. Nevertheless, you have to obey the draft to about incarceration just like what they did to Muhammad Ali for defying a draft.

Why don't you question it now? If more people would open their eyes to this so called war we wouldn't be there. As long as the lives of our young people are unaffected by this war, they will not say much as long as they still can get their ipods, lap tops, cars, cell phones, etc. Kids have to much today to worry about a so called distant war even if it is wrong and has been wrong from the beginning. I personally hope they do start the draft again for all 18 year old boys and girls just to open their eyes even 10%.

Don't worry!!! They would not want you!!! If you do not consider serving your country in a time of war as an obligation that you must and should comply to, then they would feel that you would be one of those "turn-coats" that would question every order given and you'd just get other people killed. Besides, we ALL know you would find a REASON that your country was at fault and you'd make a bee-line for the Canadian border, don't we?

People, including myself have fought for our country, when we did not agree with every reason given by politicians. There will not be a draft, the reason Rangel is talking about it is to get air time for a run for the presidency. If the Democratic controlled house and Senate approved a bill the President would veto it, with the small majority the Democrats have they could not get enough votes to override the veto.

That's the same kind of squirmy stuff we heard in Vietnam. Buck up and understand that even if you're torn to pieces by terrorist mines and bullets, even if you lose you manhood, we will still love you at home! Your country is never at fault! You have no right to question! Sure Bush might have fudged the facts to get us into something we can't get out of, but look how much money the oil companies and Dick Cheney have already made. You don't hear them crying, and eventually it's going to trickle down.

You still have to or go to jail thats the way it is, re-instating the draft would bring about a swift conclusion to the war

Go out there and kick some butt!!!

Let the politicians take the heat if you were sent to the wrong place, you're just following orders, even anti-war hippies realize that now.

I usually take the middle road on these issues but I can't help it. If you get drafted you might was well make the best of it.

If you are healthy, and in the age range, then yes - you would have to go to war.

The government has changed the draft requirements. This happened quietly while everyone else was worried about homeland security... Women and Men, ages 18 to 42 can be drafted.

At least that was the last time I saw information about it.

the entire ingredient to Charles Rangel bringing up the assumption of a draft is this - if the prospect to the country is that extreme, then every person ought to be in touch in combatting it, such simply by fact the U. S. did for the duration of international conflict II - the draft, Victory Gardens, goivernment rationing, etc. he's making a element that if we would elect to deliver troops to a conflict, people lower back living house ought to experience like they're in a conflict. somebody else's childrens should not be the sole ones to combat to maintain your risk-free practices and somebody else's toddlers and grandchildren shouldn't pay the fee to maintain your risk-free practices now. it relatively is observed as shared sacrifice.

you have two choices. do your patriotic duty, or get out of the country, and stay out. I don't believe in the draft, but, if I were drafted, I would go. USA has the worlds largest all volunteer military, and I'm proud to say I've put in my time to protect this country.
