Try to rub the paint with a piece of cloth and little oil, do not use any turpentine or spirits because you will ruin your floor..☺

I hope you aren't asking about more than spots or spills. I've applied thousands of gallons of paint but would refuse a job to "Paint" a wooden floor in a house, no matter how much the customer offered.

Krud Kutter is a brand name that is effective,,, so will be Goof Off. They will however, also remove any other finish. If it's latex you can attempt fingernail scraping, a gentle scrubbing with Dawn and an extruded dish scrubber (Gently) or soaking it heavily with water, which might loosen the substance of the Acrylic, without serious damage to the floor finish, which hopefully is not water based.

Polishing scratched wooden floors: Home stores sell specifics for the purpose, but they tend to HIDE a scratch more temporarily than a refinish. Consider however that it is a FLOOR, and subject to the most harsh wear of any surface in your house.

If the scratches happened by accident, then efforts to repair/hide them might be successful. If they are in high traffic areas, and due to usual,, or unusal wear, then you might consider throw rugs?

There is a product called Xylene ( very inexpensive) that has a slow evaporation rate.
You can put it on the paint and let it sit and soften the paint, then just wipe it up. I have never had it harm a finish.
As for polishing scratch - Have never had any luck with polishes but great results with waxes. There use to be a liquid floor wax by a company called Tre-Wax that you got at Sherwin Williams, it was great. Haven't bought any in a few years so not sure if the still carry.

If it is oil base paint you can scrape it off once it is dry but it could stain the floor in that area. If it is latex paint try using a cloth with as hot of water that you can stand let it set for a minute and scrub gentle if that does not work use a product called "Goof off" but test a small area first as it is a nasty chemical. as far as polishing your floor we need to know what it is finished with. If it is polyurethane it will need to be applied in that area.

first let the paint dry and then scrape it up as far as a scratched floor use a crayon match the color of the floor with the crayon then color the scratch in then was and buff the spot then do the whole floor with the wax or wood floor cleaner it may take a little time but in the end you will be glad you did it good luck and happy thanksgiving

Krudd Kutter is great and it is sold by K-mart. It will take up anything, even your floor finish, but if you are careful you can get the paint off without harming the floor.
