I agree, they're some of the nicest folks around. And they seem pretty hardy too. They'd have to be considering the ins and outs of their heritage and all the struggles they've faced.

I think I stumbled across something here I didn't know anything about. I was commenting more on the historical sense of things. But this is all hilarious good fun and makes me like the Welsh, and all the rest of you even more. And yeah, I'm an American girl who has no idea about some of your cultural frames of reference but hey, I'm still enjoying this! :))))

abuse is the wrong word--' poke fun at' is more appropriate .It is a beautiful place with v. nice people, and a lot of scousers.
the welsh do the same to the english,, english to scottish,,scottish to english.. mostly harmless childish insults for fun and a laugh

The Welsh are really only Irish folk that cannot swim. Howard Marks in Welsh and he was one of the worlds biggest drug smugglers. They do get somethings right

I lived there and found them generally nice people. People like to pick on 'foreigner' of people it is their nature. Every country does it. I have a pet theory - people are just narrow minded. still working on the theory though.
