Perhaps you're looking at things from the wrong perspective, or at least on the wrong order of time. Historically it's been a couple of thousand years since things were really good there.
What is happening now is the resumption of their long history of factional strife* which was momentarily suppressed under the brutal Hussein regime.

No. According to the National Guardian between 400,000 and 900,000 Iraqi citizens (not military) have been killed during this Iraq war. How can this possibly be an improvement? The birth place of the Biblical Abraham has been completely destroyed. How can this be an improvement? The Iraqi people suffer not only from death of loved ones, no electricity in 120 degree heat, no food, no water, no basics, no order. How can this possibly be an improvement?

this is a short question but it has a long answer. i will fore go the details. it all depends on what side of "better" you are looking for -- for the record Iraq was governed by almost a devil man --if not devil himself -- who on direct orders had thousands of people --his own people killed at various instances. from that point of view, yes Iraq is better now than it was under a dictator like Saddam. this having been said -- the daily killings of Iraqis among themselves because of religious or sectarian differences is a sad story. thus -- from the foregoing point of view, Iraq has not improved its humanitarian record -- to let the "public" live their lives the way they feel, they pray, they do things. this is sad. and over-all looking back is not helpful -- but looking ahead -- one does hope that it has a better future than the past -- in the long run. hope it helps -- specially it helps the people in Iraq to have "new hopes". Case still open.

We all know the answer is 'no,' no matter what the answerers post here. We seem to forget that Bush invaded a small country based on one lie after another. Nothing good can ever came from those lies. No matter that it was our president that told those lies.He called himself removing one "horror" by the name of Saddam, and replaced it with another horror brought upon these people by US troops and others in the so-called coalition. These people want the US out. As well they should. People in the US want the US out. As well they should.
Let Iraq take care of its own problems. If the US leaves, so be it. Despite all the killings there, the average Iraqi wants the US OUT. and I don't blame them.

The first-ever complete history of the war-mongering clique of
former “Trotskyite” communists—now disguised as “neo-conser-
vatives”—who forced America into the no-win debacle in Iraq.
This is the only book that tells the whole shocking story the
Media Monopoly either can not or will not print . . .
This is the one book that could help break the media-imposed
Iron Curtain of secrecy surrounding the war-mongers who are
bent on world rule.
Iraqi unemployment reaches 70%........

i think that Iraq is much better. they dont have a leader commiting genocide ect. it is the chance for them to overcome adversity but because of the brain washing they have gone through it is hard for them to understand. therefore we have terrorism. the good guys are lookn bad for doing the right thing.
