I have to write five essays tomorrow(that can not be resat at a later date), but I have not studied at all. If I don't past four than I'm not allowed to take that class next year. What are some good ways to stay awake to study, and still remember the information hours later with no sleep, and write some decent essays?

Should I have a few hours of sleep before the exam?

This is so bad, and I hate recommending this BUT I've been on the same boat. It depends on you and what works best.

Carbs: Pasta, rice, cereal, or fruit
(Candy and high sugared sweets makes you crash FASTER, but IF it works for you then great)

Energy Drinks: Sobe Adrenaline, Monster (the green or orange)

Certain combinations of those, with a focused enivronment, motivation, and faith will get you through. I find when I'm falling out of the loop (when you aren't actictive enough to utilize all that energy) take a 2-5 minute break and run in place, do crunches, or any quick vigorous activity to "wake you up" but not too much to make you tired.

These are all based on my own as well as my friends' experiences, so try what best works! Good luck, and GO GO GO!

Yeah it's not the healthiest thing to stay awake that long - although doing it once won't kill you, haha. You'll be miserably tired when you get to your destination and it will likely take a couple days to recover, so it might not be worth it. But you could bring Red Bull or other energy drinks - they come in smaller cans and have something like 3 times the amount of caffeine that coffee does. Or other sodas with caffeine. You can always get sugar-free or diet if you don't want all the sugar. Maybe if you drink enough you'll have to stop and pee frequently enough to keep you awake, haha.

I went 54 hours with no sleep, did research for and delivered a presentation flawlessly, so it can be done. I had a lot of Red Bull and Espresso Shots, and then ate a lot of candy and anything really with a ton of sugar.

If you have to stay up for a long time, DON'T go to sleep after staying up this long if you have something to do--it will make you more fatigued...So don't sleep before your exam if you're not going to get at least 6 hours of sleep or you're just tormenting your body.

Take a fifteen minute break between each paper you have to write. Try some Mountain Dew too, it's loaded with caffeine.

Sadly, none. Your body needs rest. And there is little chance of being able to write a coherent sentence on no sleep.

Spicy food? Dring coffee and eat sugar to keep you energised.
