I dont think you can remove the stain effectively, but I had a real problem with oil stains on a kitchen wall. First I washed it. Then I used a sealer, called zinsser, stain cover, then painted it. Came out like new. Good stuff

You must clean the wall, then, paint over the stain with a product called Kilz. it comes as paint or a spray. You can get it at Sherwin Williams stores. Then repaint the wall. If the wall is recently painted, and you still have the original paint you may be able to just do the spot.
