I can't really say too much more for the work of a computer technician except that they generally work to repair computers.

On the subject of an auditor's work, however, I can speak from personal experience. Auditors that audit financial statements express an opinion on the financial statements as being materially in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Relatively recently auditors have also had to begin reporting on the area of fraud. The Enron disaster (as well as others) lead to this emphasis on fraud. A very large part of an audit is the reporting on the company's internal controls (those things that are designed to serve as checks and balances in the accounting system).
