One thing is regular exercise, like walking, but it should be every day for about 30 minutes.

I think a good starting point would be for you to be evaluated by a mental health professional. If you are clinically depressed because you have a biochemical imbalance in your brain, why would you object to taking an antidepressant?
In the meantime, try to find something that you really enjoy doing.
Even just answering these questions you may help someone out.
The more interests you cultivate, the better off you'll be because you will be doing things that make you feel better about yourself.
If you are truly depressed though, you may want to give serious consideration to taking an antidepressant. Happy Thanksgiving and hang in there. Take it one day at a time. And pray to the Lord for his blessings and his comfort.

Im not a religious freak, but the day I found the Lord wasn't like magical or anything... little by little as I walked with him, I realized that I wasn't depressed anymore... also having a better group of friends I surround myself with helps alot.... It really is nice to have people who care about you and what you are going throu... Mainly I stopped getting into relationships, cause boys seem to always make it worse! Getting some responsibility that doesn't make you miserable (volunteering for something) would make you feel better too..... hope that helps... feel free to email me if you wanna complain about anything to anyone....

Exercise is good. My opinion is also that doing anything that gives you a sense of control is good. Make a to-do list and start doing the things and crossing them off as you get them done. Be sure to put some social things on the list (e.g., coffee with a friend). Also, you should probably consult with a clinical psychologist, being sure to tell him/her that you don't want medication. He/she might try to argue that meds would be good for you, but it's your decision. Even without meds, the psychologist will have lots of other good ideas.

Seek the attention of a naturopath, drink more water (8oz 8x a day) and eat fresher foods-more fruits, veggies, fish and poultry. Walk at least 20 minutes a day (use the buddy system) and remember YOU are the most important person to YOU if YOU don't take care of YOU who else can? Eat well, bell well, live well, get HAPPY!

First you need to speak to someone.......many professionals will provide u with a free consultation. You need to find out how serious your condition may be and the only way you can do this is to seek a professional. Sometimes all you really need to do is talk to someone who is objective so they can provide you with the care and advice you need........many things can be resolved with talking and not necessary to medicate you...take one step at a time and seek some guidance. Good luck!
