Give me liberty or give me death.
Oppression and tyranny has been the status-quo for much of human existence. The US "experiment" in self-governing was a provocative idea that seems to work, economically and for the benefit of all.
PS. except for those that benefit from tyranny.

It means rule of people by its people for the people. It is important for it works for people's benefit in respect of safety of life, property and safeguards human and animal rights. It looks after welfare of people in general regarding their means of livelihood, social interaction and poses a united force against those who have bad intentions against the people or their country. However their are no perfect democracies in the world anywhere as it is tempered by the rulers in the the democracy.

I'm not going to say anyting about what democracy is, just what it isn't? America is a Republic...not a democracy. Now go look up "republic"

Democracy comes from Greek words Demo and Cracy. Demo means you try for the first time, you don't like?, you send it back. Free of charge. Well, you pay for shipping and handling, both ways. Cracy comes from Greek word crazy. It means crazy.
So try out crazy. democracy.
