i dropped my cingular cellphone in water. after about a day of drying off, i turned it on and it worked fine. it turned off a few days later and has never turned on since. help? can a salvage this phone? please tell me if i can fix it.

It may not be salvageable. Since it has been exposed to water, the manufacturer's warranty is void (and there is an indicator that shows the technicians if you try).

Check your Cingular bill for a premium for Wireless Phone Insurance. If you've been paying for it, you can get a replacement by calling 1-888-562-8662. They are open Monday-Friday 7am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-7pm (Central Time) except for major holidays. You'll get a replacement just like (or similar to) your phone and they'll put the $50 deductible on your bill.

If you haven't been paying for insurance, you won't be able to enroll in it now. Besides that it is insurance fraud to do so, any enrollment requires a successful test call and you are only eligible to enroll if your phone is less than 30 days old.

if you have insurance on the phone you can call them and tell them you lost it, they will replace it, if you dont, call, have it insured and call the next week with the news.
